In order to prepare for President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state to commission eight development projects, security has been stepped up in some areas of Kano’s capital.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), security personnel from the state’s road traffic agency (KAROTA), the police, the civil defense corps, and the FRSC were drafted as early as 7 a.m. for the visit.

The security personnel were stationed along a number of roadways, including Audu Bako Way, Ahmadu Bello Way, Emir’s Palace, and Sabo Bakin Zuwo, formerly known as State Road.

The state’s commissioner for information and internal affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, said in a statement on Sunday that plans had been made to welcome the President.
