Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has chastised his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, for accepting a cash donation from a secondary school student.
It is understood that a secondary school student named Chizzy Ebube Balogun recently made a cash donation to Obi’s presidential campaign.
The Labour Party candidate, who revealed the development via a Twitter post on Sunday, described the young girl’s donation as a small but invaluable donation in an appreciation post.
He went on to say that the schoolgirl’s donation has invested in her future, as well as the futures of her contemporaries and future generations.
Obi wrote:
My deep appreciation to Ms. Chizzy Ebube Balogun, a secondary school (SS2) student, for her small but most invaluable donation. She has invested in her future and those of her contemporaries and generations yet unborn. She is an exemplar in social consciousness.
God bless you and your generation. -PO

However, in response to the donation, Sowore called the development a scam.
He also compared Obi’s actions to those of President Muhammadu Buhari, who accepted a donation from a young girl who gave her pocket money when he was a candidate.
The AAC candidate wrote:
