It was yet another hellish moment in Nsukka, the host town of University of Nigeria as a yet to be identified undergraduate of the institution was arrested by some over alleged child trafficking.

According to WITHIN NIGERIA source, the suspect was said to have stolen the little boy along Obukpa axis, one of the host communities of the institution.

Narrating the ugly incident to our reporter, our source revealed that ” the student was captured by some irate youths in the community while trying to smuggle out the small boy. When he was questioned on his relationship with the small boy, the suspect couldn’t defend himself, so they decided to descend on him and give him the beatings of his life.”

Explaining further, our source stated that ” the youths decided to parade him around the host community to show them that they have such character living with them. When they wanted to set him ablaze, some youths resisted and said no. They did not want such treatment on him.”

Our reporter gathered that the suspect was later handed over to security agents for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Nevertheless all efforts by our reporter to get the reaction of the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Chief Okwun Umeaku proved abortive as he couldn’t pick his calls.

Again, the Students Union Government, SUG president, Mr. Abuchi Michael could not pick his calls by our reporter at the time of filing this report.
