The governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has persisted in promoting the southern presidential agenda as the 2023 general election approaches, arguing that it is past due for the south to produce a president.
By advocating for Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor has once more urged the residents of his state to continue their fight for the southern presidency.
He claimed that since the North had produced the president for eight years, it was now the South’s turn to hold the office.
Akeredolu reportedly made the submission at the APC Ondo North Senatorial campaign rally held in Owo.
The governor argued that Tinubu’s victory could not be thwarted by tricks or conspiracies because his time had come.
He was confident that the APC flagbearer’s widespread acceptance was already a sign of success in the upcoming elections.
The governor urged the populace to turn out in large numbers to vote for the APC, including Tinubu and the House of Assembly candidates, and promised that the nation would advance if Tinubu won.
He stated that;
Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is tested and trusted. He has been governor of Lagos and we know how he transformed the state. I can assure you, Nigeria will move forward under Tinubu as president.
Akeredolu called on the people of Owo, Ose and Akoko to vote massively for the senatorial candidate of the party, Pastor Jide Ipinsagba, as well as all the House of Representatives candidates of the party.
