Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has claimed that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fayose stated on his Facebook page on Tuesday that he is working for Tinubu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29.
A Labour Party (LP) supporter claimed Tinubu is playing the victim in the South West, which is, unfortunately, working in his favour.
He did, however, urge the LP and Peter Obi supporters to canvass for more votes in the South-South, the Middle Belt, and some states with large voting populations.
He wrote:
It’s almost election day. Labour Party (LP) and support groups for Peter Obi need to consolidate in SS, MB (Especially Plateau, Benue), Ondo, Lagos, Kaduna, and Taraba. These are the strong regions to get high numbers.
The SE needs to show its hands massively.
For SS: Wike is working for BAT, there is heavy propaganda going on in Akwa Ibom, Okowa is ready for war in Delta, Bayelsa needs a structure to convert, Edo is certain.
BAT is playing a victim in the SW, and unfortunately, it’s working.
It was reported that Wike has been at odds with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership since losing the party’s presidential ticket to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The Rivers governor, along with four other PDP governors, resigned from the PDP Presidential Campaign Council and demanded the resignation of the PDP’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Wike and the other G-5 governors have stated that the party cannot have the North produce its national chairman and presidential candidate.
They emphasized that a Southerner should produce the party’s national chairman for the sake of balance and equity.
