Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, believes Joshua can reclaim the heavyweight championship for the third time in his career.
Anthony Joshua improved for his rematch against Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022, but he was defeated again in a split decision. Joshua’s first fight with Usyk resulted in him losing all of his belts.
The British heavyweight fighter, who was born in Nigeria, is said to have begun a new training camp in the United States as he prepares for his rematch against American Jermaine Franklin on April 1.
Franklin put on a strong performance against Dillian Whyte in a match that many observers thought he should have won last year.
In an interview with DAZN, Hearn stated that Joshua will regain his form and win the heavyweight championship after visiting the O2 Arena.
Hearn said;
The main man, Anthony Joshua returning to the lion’s den. It used to be the stomping ground for Anthony Joshua, the debut, Kevin Johnson, Gary Cornish, his first title, the British heavyweight fight against Dillian Whyte.
For a long time that was home, that was the lion’s den. I think that’s going to be emotional. It’s a big fight for him against Franklin. Franklin’s coming off a great fight with Dillian Whyte, a really close fight between those two. He’s full of confidence.
Everybody’s going to raise their game when they fight Anthony Joshua. The plan for Anthony Joshua is to see him become a world champion again. It’s about activity, it’s about enjoying himself.
