Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP-PCC), has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to hack the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the presidential election will take place across the country on February 25th.

Tambuwal warned on Thursday at the PDP’s presidential campaign rally at Kano’s Sani Abacha Stadium that the opposition will not accept any attempt to manipulate the election.

He said:

We are aware that they have brought hackers to hack the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS), to compromise the INEC servers, but we will not allow them. We would not accept any attempt by anybody to manipulate the electoral process.

He claimed that infighting within the APC has brought Nigeria to its knees, emphasizing that the ruling party has nearly brought down the entire system in pursuit of their selfish interests.

He claimed that the ruling party was bent on bringing down the system because it was afraid of losing the presidential election.

Tambuwal urged voters to reject all financial overtures from the APC, alleging that the party was planning to bring in money, both old and new, in order to deceive them on election day.

The governor said:

It is your money that would have been used for your security, to provide you with infrastructure, to provide employment and enabling environment for your businesses to grow, your money which they had stashed away that they now want to come and buy your votes with.
