The National Institute for Sports (NIS) Surulere Lagos held its matriculation ceremony on February 9, 2023, with over 250 students taking the oath of allegiance.
Professor O. A. Moronkola, NIS Director General/CEO, spoke at the ceremony and urged the students to maintain the Institute’s high academic standards.
He stated that the first batch of students from the polytechnic JAMB admitted from newly accredited courses is proof of the Institute’s reputation.
Students were encouraged to take care of the newly upgraded facilities, which were made possible by the support of Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare.
He also warned the students to stay focused on their studies, stating that they were partners in progress with the NIS.
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai was among the matriculating students, and he said he chose to study at the Institute to broaden his knowledge and have a greater impact on the youth.
