A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, said he knows of a governor in the North-West region of the country who hid 22 billion naira at home.
Galadima stated this during an interview on Trust TV’s Daily Politics while speaking on how some politicians hid old naira notes at home and are now stranded.
He said “I know from intelligence that there is a governor in the North-western part of this country that has about N22 billion of the old currency.
When asked if he was sure of what he said, Galadima added, “Yes, N22 billion of the old currency stacked in his house as I speak to you. He knows himself. And the security agencies know.”
Responding to why security agencies are not talking, he said, “It is because maybe they belong to the same club or they are protecting him.”
When asked if it was trap set for the governor, Galadima said, “Well, the trap is for him to go out to change the money. How can one man have N22bn in cash he accumulated through corruption?”
