Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has reacted to the meeting between All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima, and other top APC officials paid a visit to Wike today at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Tinubu held the meeting immediately after engaging his supporters in Rivers at the presidential campaign held today at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Elekahia, Port Harcourt.
However, because the meeting is less than ten days before the upcoming general elections, the development has sparked a flood of reactions.
Furthermore, it fueled speculation that Wike, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, may have stylishly endorsed Tinubu over his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
However, Senator Sani, speaking on Channels Television, stated that until Wike publicly endorses the APC presidential candidate, he will assume the meeting was merely a custom.
According to him, when a presidential candidate visits a state, he must first meet with the state’s chief executive, traditional rulers, and any prominent people before embarking on a campaign.
So, the picture I have seen here is the presidential candidate of the APC, Jagaban visiting Wike. And until Wike comes out publicly to say he has endorsed Tinubu or Asiwaju, then I know that its the party (PDP) who will now decide what to do, the former lawmaker said.
