Products worth over N326 million, according to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, were destroyed in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
This was announced by NAFDAC on Thursday night in a post on its official Twitter account, @NafdacAgency.
The agency tweeted, “Today, products worth N326,833,592.80 were destroyed at the North-Central destruction exercise which took place at Lafia, Nasarawa State.”
According to the picture and video posted by the agency, cartons of pharmaceuticals, soft drinks, and other products were destroyed.
NAFDAC is responsible for regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, advertisement, distribution, sale, and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, chemicals, and packaged water.
