Anambra state Govt. supports family of UNIZIK lecturer who gave birth to septuplet with N15m

Anambra State Government has supported Mr and Mrs Celestine Uzodike who gave birth to Septuplet in Okija with the sum of fifteen million naira.

This support was made through the Commissioner for Women and social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo on Thursday 16th February 2023, when she visited the couple at Obijackson Women and Children Hospital, Okija.

Presenting the Cheque to the couple, the women and social welfare boss noted that the state government is not only interested in the well-being of the children but also that of the parents and as such sees the need to support where need be.

Hon Obinabo went further to state that state government will continue to do her best to ensure that children and women in the state are protected. Madam Commissioner at the same time thanked the hospital management for their support and kind gesture towards the couple and the children.

Responding, Mr Celestine and the wife Mrs Ngozi Uzodike after receiving the Cheque thanked the state government for their timely intervention. The couple who were visibly excited also appreciated the wife of the governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo for making women and children her priority.

Recall that Mrs Ngozi Uzodike,  a lecturer in the department of Business Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state was delivered of a set of seven twins (septuplets) on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

Mrs Uzodike who was delivered of the septuplets at Obijackson Women and Children Hospital, Okija was full of tears of both that of joy and sorrow as she complained of having not been paid salary since she was employed in the Department of Business Administration of UNIZIK in December 2020.

The family was billed 19 million naira even as her husband Celestine is a junior aide to the Governor of Anambra state, Prof. Charles Soludo.
