Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has stated that the Naira redesign and cash policy approved by President Muhammadu Buhari has put him on a collision course with ‘parasitic ruling elites’ in the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Recall that Buhari on Thursday morning in a broadcast directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to release old N200 notes into circulation to co-exist with new N200, N500 and N1,000 banknotes for 60 days.
Sani while reacting to this broadcast via his official Twitter account expressed that Buhari’s attempt to prevent vote buying is threatening the interest of certain APC politicians.
He wrote, “President Buhari’s cashless policy has set him up against the parasitic ruling elites in his party.
“His attempt to exorcise money out of politics threatened their interest & hold on to power.
“Slave trade and vote buying have a lot in common. It’s Time for emancipation.”
