Anambra police rescue stolen children from three states

Three children said to have been stolen from their parents in Abia, Akwa-Ibom, and Rivers states, have been rescued by the police in Anambra State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who disclosed this in a statement, said the children, identified as David Frang, eight; Sarah Frang, three; and Chibuchi Sunday, seven, were recovered from suspects who were already in police custody.

Ikenga said the suspects confessed that the children were taken away from their parents and brought to Anambra State.

The police spokesman, therefore, called on the public, especially those from the three states, to help identify the children and help the police reunite them with their biological parents.

He said, “The Anambra State Police Command today, February 17, 2023, calls on the public, especially residents of Abia, Akwa-Ibom, and Rivers states, to help us identify these children for a possible reunion with their parents.

“They are David Frang, Sarah Frang, and Chibuchi Sunday. They were recovered from individual suspects who are already in custody.

“Given the confessions of the suspects, the children were taken away from their parents in the respective states mentioned above and brought to Anambra State.

“Therefore, anyone who knows the parents of these children should inform them to come to the Anambra State Police Command with proof, while the police command shall do the necessary checks before handing them over.”
