The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has told a former Minister of State for the FCT, Ms Jumoke Akinjide, that the people of the state will vote en masse for APC presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu, on February 25.
This is contained in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan.
The party advised Akinjide to tread lightly and avoid making futile attempts to bring Tinubu down through various media channels.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Akinjide, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, was alleged to have made disparaging remarks about Tinubu on a radio programme.
Oyintiloye also said that from his engagement with different groups in the state, it had become very clear that Tinubu had an edge over other candidates in the election.
“At this critical period in the life of our country, the only person that can bring Nigeria back to the path of glory is Tinubu.
“It is in the interest of all Nigerians that Tinubu is elected president due to his track record in the public and private sectors.
“He has the experience to tackle the challenges confronting the country and restore hope to Nigerians.
“With the door-to-door campaign embarked upon by the directorate, APC will deliver massive votes for Tinubu in Osun.
“I, therefore, urge Nigerians to come out en masse on Feb. 25 to vote for Tinubu and all APC candidates, in the interest of a better Nigeria,” he said.
Oyintiloye commended members of the association for the honor done to him with the award and promised to continue to support them.
In his remarks, the President of the association, Rasaki Ejalonibu, said that the award was given to Oyintiloye because of his contributions to the development of the organization.
He promised that members of the association would vote massively for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
Ejalonibu said despite the scarcity of new naira notes and fuel, members of the party were determined to vote for the APC presidential candidate.
“With or without the new naira notes, we are determined to vote Tinubu. He is our man and we will ensure his victory,” he said.
