APC Backtracks, Denies Suspending National Vice Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied media reports that its National Vice Chairman (North-east), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, had been suspended for alleged anti-party activities.

WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that Salihu was suspended for six months by Rumde Ward of Yola North local government area in Adamawa State for “gross abuse of office, conspiracy, and anti-party acts.”

The letter of suspension from the ward executives was jointly signed by the ward’s vice chairman, the secretary, and 16 other executive members of the party in the ward and addressed to the National Chairman of the party through the acting state chairman and the chairman APC Yola North local government area.

However, in a letter to the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the APC Chairman, Rumde Ward, Abdulkadir Abdullahi, distanced himself from the alleged suspension.

The virtues of the embattled APC chieftain, according to Abdullahi, have never been in doubt, and his spirit for party duty, resilience, and capacity to listen to advice are visible to all party members.

The letter reads;

The All Progressive Congress, Rumde Ward Working Committee, Yola North Local Government, Adamawa State wishes to distance itself from the purported suspension of the APC National Vice-Chairman Northeast, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, going viral on social media platforms.

There can be no doubt about his many virtues, his spirit for party duty, resilience and capacity to listen to advice and so on.
