The Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has appointed 12 Permanent Secretaries as part of the efforts to engender efficient public service delivery in the digital era and in compliance with global best practices.
This is contained in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, on Wednesday.
Those appointed are Mansur Yakubu, who until his new appointment was a Director from the Ministry of Works, Salisu Dan Azumi, was a Director from the Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs and Dr Sa’adatu Sa’idu Bala, was a Director from the Ministry of Health.
Others are Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi, who was before his new appointment the Executive Secretary, Science and Technical Schools Board, Baba Sharu Dala, was a Director from Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission and Aliyu Yakubu, Garo, was a Director from Ministry of Tourism.
The new appointees includes Abbas Sanusi, who was hitherto from Judiciary, Dr. Tijjani Hussain, was the Executive Secretary, State Primary Healthcare Development Board and Yahaya Nuhu Amasaye, who until his new appointment was Director from Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Aisha Abba Kailani was also appointed as Permanent Secretary, she was before now from the Office of the Head of Service, Mustapha Madaki Huguma, was before his new appointment Director from State Universal Basic Education Board and Musa Tanko Garko, was also from the Office of the Head of Service.
According to the statement, all the appointments are with immediate effect,
“The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries proved their mettle in public service engagement. We believe in their undoubting capacity, as diligent screening and scrutiny were applied in the selection process.
“I directed them to always work with their staff wherever they would be posted, as diligent as expected of them. They must consider teamwork to be part of their service delivery,” the statement read.
The swearing-in will take place tomorrow Thursday at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, by 2 pm.
