Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has promised to whip her husband into line should he “derail” after becoming the president.
She said, “We will not disappoint you. Asiwaju will not derail after becoming president. You can count on me to bring him back to line should he derail.”
The former Lagos first lady said this on Tuesday at the grand finale of the APC presidential campaign rally at the Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos.
“We are now at a critical stage of our campaign. This is our grand finale. God is still faithful. Asiwaju can only become our next president if you go out and vote for him on Saturday,” she appealed to APC members and supporters at the stadium.
Mrs Tinubu added, “You know we have been consistent for the past 23 years, and we are not going to disappoint you. Asiwaju is not running because there is an opportunity for power. He is running because he sees a need he wants to meet.”
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Senator Remi while speaking at the South-East women’s rally for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign in Owerri, Imo State, advised Nigerians to “drive out” her husband, Tinubu, after four years if he is elected and fails to perform.
The senator representing Lagos Central said, “Let’s leave religion aside; I am a Christian. Have you ever thought that one day a Christian-Christian candidate would emerge? What would be the reference point? We have tried the Muslim-Christian ticket, let us try this one too and after four years if they don’t do well, you can drive them out.”
