Former Kaduna lawmaker Shehu Sani has urged South East residents to disregard the sit-at-home order proposed by Simon Ekpa’s faction of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
The separatist group threatened to impose a sit-in order in the South East during the general elections.
However, in a tweet on Thursday, Sani pleaded with the Southeast to disregard Ekpa’s order.
The former lawmaker insisted that the sit-in order is a negative and retrogressive action against the democratic rights of people in the country’s south-eastern region.
He wrote;
The sit-at-home order imposed on the South Eastern part of Nigeria by the separatist IPOB is a negative and retrogressive action against the democratic rights of the people in that region. It should be resisted and disobeyed.
