The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has declared Friday, February 24 a work-free day for civil servants in the employ of the government.
This was contained in a statement on Thursday evening in Yenagoa signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Ayibaina Duba.
He explained that the decision was to enable those who would travel out of their work-station for the presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday to do so.
The statement said, “The Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, has declared Friday, February 24, 2023 as a work-free day for Civil Servants in the Service of Bayelsa State Government.
“This is to allow those who intend to travel out of their work-station ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections holding over the weekend to do so.”
