Gunmen attacked the campaign convoy of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Oforchukwu Egbo and killed the driver of one of the buses in the convoy.
It was gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.
According to PUNCH, the driver was burnt with the vehicle.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that gunmen had also attacked and killed the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East senatorial district, Oyibo Chukwu, with five of his supporters in Amechi on Wednesday evening.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, could not be reached on telephone at the time of filing this report.
