WITHIN NIGERIA source Chijioke Nnadozie explained that ” we waited for the INEC to come and sort out the PVCs, all to no avail. So, we decided to do it ourselves.

“The sorting out has being ongoing since Friday afternoon in Obi Umudim palace! The Youths are resolute in their quest to take back Nigeria.”

Recall that on Tuesday, a hunter has reportedly discovered a bag filled with thousands of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in a forest in Anambra state.

The discovery of the PVCs comes barely four days before the presidential and National Assembly Elections, which will be held this Saturday, 25 February.

It was gathered the hunter stumbled on the bag containing the PVCs during his hunting exercise on Tuesday in a forest in Akamili, Umudim, which is a community in the Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra.

He took the PVCs to the premises of Authority FM, a local radio station in the community, apparently to publicise the discovery to the owners of the PVCs for collection.

However, reacting to the incident on Friday, the Independent National Electoral Commission announced that it had started looking into the claims that Permanent Voter Cards had been discovered in the Anambra State forest.

Festus Okoye, the national commissioner for INEC revealed this on Friday while answering viewers’ questions on Channels Television’s The 2023 Verdict.

According to him, the investigation was conducted to verify the veracity of the claim that PVCs had been discovered in a state forest.

“We are aware that there are some people and some forces that want to delegitimize this particular election. Now the total number of registered voters in that particular local government hovers around 250,000 but I watched that video and they were talking about millions of PVCs that were found.

“Incidentally, in that particular local government, we have almost over 99% of PVCs already collected. Now we have instructed our Resident Electoral Commissioner and Electoral Officer for that particular local government to make a report to the DSS and to the police.”
