Labour Party, LP, chieftain, Kenneth Okonkwo, says the All Progressives Congress, APC, is a party that believes that religion is superior to the Nigeria’s constitution.

Speaking on Thursday when he appeared on Channels Television 2023 Verdict, Okonkwo said Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC was against the provisions of the constitution.

The spokesperson of the LP Presidential Campaign Council noted that the fact that the country’s laws country highlights fairness was an indication that religion must be taken into account in politics and governance.

He noted that APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, his running mate Kashim Shettima and others top officers holders are Muslims.

“The APC chairman (Abdullahi Adamu) is Muslim, the Senate President (Ahmad Lawan) is Muslim, the House of Representatives Speaker (Femi Gbajabiamila) is Muslim.

“The Deputy Speaker (Ahmed Wase) is Muslim. APC is a religious party, they are religious. This is a multi-religious country,” the LP member said.

Okonkwo also claimed there are plans to make Lawan and Gbajabiamila return to their positions if the ruling party retains power.
