JUST IN: House Of Rep Member Arrested With Foreign Currency In Rivers

Dr. Chinyere Igwe, a representative from the House of Representatives, was detained together with an undetermined sum of foreign currency.

Igwe, who sits in the lower chamber of the National Assembly and represents Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, was taken into custody on Friday morning in Port Harcourt.

While confirming the arrest, the Rivers State Police Command spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko said, “A statement on it will be made soon.

Igwe is rumored to be an ardent supporter of Atiku Abubakar, the preferred presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
