Pastor E.A Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), has urged Nigerians to vote and ensure their votes count in the 2023 election.
The revered clergyman issued the warning on Friday evening, less than twenty-four hours before Nigeria’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
He stated that the people of Nigeria, as true Nigerians, must not refuse to vote because it is their civic duty. Adeboye went on to say that anyone who does not vote should not complain about the government in power.
While some expected Pastor Adeboye to give specific instructions on who to vote for, the RCCG General Overseer simply tweeted #MakeYourVoteCount and shared a video of himself saying his assignment has nothing to do with partisan politics and asking people not to distract him.
Pastor Adeboye stated that he has never instructed his followers to vote for a specific candidate or political party and will never do so because the RCCG is heavily represented by all parties.
He stated that his mission is to pray for people and for Nigeria.
According to the well-known pastor, he is the father of all, and the only reason he has not voted in elections is that voting for a particular party or candidate would be unjust to his other children who are members of other political parties.
