2023 Election: Kogi voters flee as political thugs destroy electoral materials

Voters in Ogege road, Odaba Polling Unit in Dekina Ward have fled from the voting arena following the activities of political thugs who came in large numbers to destroy voting materials.

The thugs who appeared with machetes and guns snatched ballot boxes, broke chairs and dispersed voters.

As of the time of filing this report, voters and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have dispersed.

This is coming just as the Governor, Yahaya Bello cast his vote in polling Unit 011 in Agassa in Okene Local Government Area at about 10.10 am, commending the voters for their peaceful conduct, attributing the large turnout of voters to the peaceful environment created by his administration.
