The lack of INEC officers at polling unit 012 at CBN intersection, Karu site Abuja, put thousands of eligible voters at risk of losing their right to vote.
Even though INEC set 8:30 am as the official voting hour, no INEC representatives were there as of 10 am.
Speaking about the development, Barr. Mike Ugwuanyi, a prospective voter, said, “The issue we are having here is INEC. By 8 am, the voters were prepared and present to cast their ballots. However, it is nearly ten in the morning while we wait for INEC officials.
The observers are present, and the voters are prepared. This is polling place 012 in Abuja’s Karu site.
There are no INEC officials here. They set up a canopy but apart from the canopy we saw here, there is no other thing.
This is worrisome. We are being denied by INEC of the opportunity to vote. INEC officials assigned to this polling unit are not here at all. Who ever that is in charge should please act fast because we are getting impatient.
