Bashir Ahmad, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, has taken aim at former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his remarks about the ongoing collation of the 2023 presidential election.
WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that Obasanjo stated in a statement personally signed on Monday that it is no secret that INEC officials at the operational level have been allegedly compromised.
The former president stated that while the INEC Chairman may claim ignorance, he cannot remain silent when the election process has been tainted.
Obasanjo also called for a rerun election next Saturday in areas affected by violence.
Bashir Ahmed, in response, stated that Buhari will never interfere with the country’s electoral process halfway.
