President Muhammadu Buhari has advised the winners of the Daura zone Senate and House of Representatives elections to respect voters in order to avoid being kicked out of office as the collation of Saturday’s presidential election continues.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the President gave the advice when he received the winners in Daura, his country home in Katsina State.
According to a statement issued by Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Monday, Buhari urged them to make voters feel important because they would determine their fate in the next election.
He said:
Respect the voters and make them feel important. If you don’t, they will wait in ambush for you in the next election. Depending on how you deal with them, they will keep you in the office, or they will send you packing.
