The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate, the winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Imo State.
According to the state’s returning officer, Charles Esimone, who announced the results on Tuesday in Owerri, Obi received 352,904 votes, while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress received 66, 171 votes, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party received 30,044 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso received 1,536 votes.
Results were collated in 26 out of the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
The returning officer said that the result of the Njaba LGA was not collated because of violence.
