For Ambassador Zoe Nwachukwu, life is indeed full of surprises. According to him, in his entire life, he never thought he will be facing a huge family problem that is currently staring him in his face.

Not even his many years of pastoral work prepared him for the momentous period he is currently facing. His new born baby girl Sophia Chioma Zoe was abducted by unknown person last week without any traces.

How the 3 months baby girl was kidnapped

Narrating the ugly incident to WITHIN NIGERIA reporter in an exclusive interview, Pastor Nwachukwu explained that ” it was around 5:08am on Friday, 24th February, 2023 when I left for my work. I am a Keke tricycle rider so I left early to pick my passengers. The incident happened at Mr Chinkere’s Compound, Umuodu Umuakwu Nsulu Isiala Ngwa North Abia State.

“However, few minutes later, my wife called me to tell me that somebody came into our house and stole my new born baby girl. According to her, somebody on mask, came into our room with machete, surrounded her and took away the baby and her phone. But unfortunately, the man left his machete and the clothe which he used to cover his face in our compound, which I am now using as an exhibit in the case.”

The police response to the incident

Asked if he has reported the incident to the police, Pastor said that ” since the incident happened, we have been going to the police station. They came to our compound and did little investigation and went back. The next day they came back again and told us that will continue coming for the investigations on the matter.”

The prime suspect
On whether he is suspecting anybody of the alleged crime, Pastor Nwachukwu responded that ” I already have a suspect. It is a gardener who normally came to cut grasses in our compound. I have all the evidence to prove that he is the criminal that took away my child.

Sophia Chioma Zoe

Firstly, for more than three weeks now, I have been calling him to come and clear grasses in our compound bit he kept on telling me that there was no chance, that he was busy. However, immediately my wife called, informing me of the ugly incident, I called his mother to enquire if he was in the house, but she told me that he left by 5am with machete. That he has gone out for work and I believe that it was in my house that he went for the work.

“Secondly, those exhibits, that is the machete and cloth are truly his possessions. The machete is exactly his which uses to cut grasses for us in the compound while that cloth is exactly the one he uses to cover his face while cutting the grasses. So, he is the prime suspect, though he has not been arrested because currently, he is no where to be found. I have stayed in the same compound with him some years ago.

Pastor Nwachukwu

Asked what possibly the suspect would have used the child for, Pastor Nwachukwu responded that ” I believe he might have sold my child to the childless couple. He wouldn’t have used my child for rituals.”

“One of the days I parked by road side and he came to the Keke and started touching the baby asking my wife the baby’s sex.
He has such record before.
The cutlass is his and it was his mum I was heading to carry to market that early morning.”

Appealing to the public for help, Pastor Nwachukwu said that ” I appeal to the general public to please help me with any information that can lead to the recovery of my child, Sophia Chioma Zoe. The person can call me on 08153609008 or nearest police station.”
