Some yet-to-be-identified assailants have reportedly murdered a resident of Ijebu Jesa in Osun State, Tunde Ejoka.

Findings indicate that the late Ejoka’s body was found there in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to sources in Ijebu Jesa, the deceased Ejoka had speech and hearing impairments and was found dismembered by some unidentified people.

Yemisi Opalola, the Osun Police Command spokesperson, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation had been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

“It happened. His corpse was discovered on Wednesday. We have launched a probe into the killing with a view to unravelling the circumstances surrounding it. No arrest yet,” Opalola said.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has said the late Ejoka was its member and blamed the killing on suspected thugs working for the Peoples Democratic Party.

The APC in a statement signed by its acting chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, obtained in Osogbo, further alleged, “it was learnt that Tunde Ejoka, a prominent and courageous member of the APC was assassinated in his Ijebu-Jesa home in the early hours of today by the PDP thugs.

“Information has it that the PDP thugs had earlier threatened the life of Ejoka on the eve of the presidential and National Assembly elections last Friday.”

He then tasked the State Commissioner of Police to investigate, arrest and prosecute whoever was directly or indirectly connected with the killing.

Efforts to get PDP’s reaction to the allegations proved futile as calls to the spokesperson for the party in Osun, Oladele Olabamiji, rang out and he has not responded to a text message sent to him on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
