Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), has urged party supporters to celebrate their victory without insulting their political opponents.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu the winner of the 2023 election in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Prior to the announcement of the results, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Labour Party (LP) claimed that there were irregularities in the electoral body’s collation of the results.
The opposition parties also demanded that the election results be annulled and Yakubu resign.
Following Tinubu’s victory, Keyamo urged his fellow party supporters not to taunt opponents during their celebrations.
Keyamo wrote on Twitter:
As we celebrate, we must do so without taunting our opponents who are great patriots.
After all the vitriols during the campaigns, this is a time to embrace ourselves for nation-building. At the end of the day, we all mean well for our country, though from different perspectives.
