A pastor and two of his workers have been killed by suspected herdsmen who attacked Sobe Community in the Owan West Local Government Area in Edo State.
It was gathered that aside the pastors and his workers, many others were also injured during the attack.
According to PUNCH, a source said that it was the fifth time the community would be attacked since January by the killer herdsmen.
The source added, “The people of Sobe community in the Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State have suffered another attack today (Sunday) following the renewed hostility of Fulani herdsmen in the area.
“A pastor and two of his workers were killed while they were working on their farmland around Eti Oseh road, which links Saboginda Ora.
“Effort of the Edo State Security Network to rescue the victims before they died proved abortive as the herdsmen, numbering 40, opened fire on the rescue team and most of them escaped with different degrees of bullet injury.
“This is the fifth time Sobe will be suffering deadly attacks from Fulani herdsmen this year. Most people living in the suburbs of the community have since left their homes while most farmers have relocated from the community,” the source added.
The state police spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, when contacted said the report of the attack had yet to get to the command.
