The Labour Party presidential candidate in the just concluded February 25 presidential election, Peter Obi, has paid a visit to Jennifer Efedi who was attacked by hoodlums during the election.
Obi disclosed her visit to Efedi on Monday via his Twitter handle.
Recall that Efedi was attacked by hoodlums in Lagos during the presidential election and sustained injuries in the process.
Her determination to cast vote despite the pains of the injuries she sustained drew commendations and applause from Nigerians.
Obi showered encomium on Efedi, describing her as courageous.
“She is my point of contact with every Nigerian who suffered a similar fate in their bid to exercise their voting rights,
and contribute to a new Nigeria. Like many Nigerians, I acknowledge her bravery and resoluteness” Obi said.
Today, I visited Mrs Jennifer Efidi. She was attacked on 25th February in an attempt to stop her from voting, but she stood her ground. Jennifer is one of the great icons of Nigeria's democracy. pic.twitter.com/c9pKfdUNor
