Dr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has expressed condolences to Islamic scholar Sheikh Gumi on the death of his mother.
The former military officer announced his mother’s death on Facebook, saying she died on Sunday evening around 5.30 p.m.
Obi prayed for God to comfort the entire Gumi family on his verified Twitter page.
His signed tweet read, “I send my sincere condolences to Sheikh Gumi, an Islamic scholar and cleric, over the death of his beloved mother.
“I cannot begin to imagine the pains the family are going through at the moment. I pray that God will strengthen you and comfort the entire Gumi family over her irreplaceable loss, and grant her eternal rest.”
