In Minna, Niger State, on Wednesday, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar met with former military leaders Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) and Ibrahim Babangida.
Although the meeting’s specifics were kept private, the elder statesmen posed for photos with Atiku before they entered a private room.
Before the Saturday elections for the State Houses of Assembly and Governor, Atiku is currently in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The PDP Presidential Candidate consulted both men in the buildup to the 2023 elections.
Mazi Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, however, said that the meeting was fruitful.
Babangida is a founding member of the Party. Atiku and the Party in the absence of General Babangida have concluded plans to challenge the election result at the Tribunal.
It would be recalled that Babangida left Nigeria for Germany in January and returned to the country only last week thereby didn’t partake in the election.
Already, General Babangida had sent a congratulatory message to APC candidate and winner, Bola Tinubu over his victory at the Polls and described the victory as “a New Dawn for Nigeria”.
This is a developing story…
