There was a surge of excitement as the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, presented N15 million to shop owners whose businesses were torched at Akere Spare Parts Market, Ajegunle in the Apapa region of Lagos State.
A fire at the Spare Parts Market on Wednesday morning resulted in the destruction of millions of naira’s worth of items.
The governorship candidate, who attended the scene, was seen in the web video whispering to the person next to him. The man then declared the gift and said, “ He gave us N15 million naira to ….
The cheers from the crowd drowned the rest of the announcement as the excited traders lifted Rhodes-Vivour in appreciation.
