The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) requested that the court modify its order requiring the inspection of materials used to conduct the presidential election on February 25. The Labour Party LP’s candidate for president, Mr. Peters Obi, stormed the Court of Appeal in Abuja to witness the court’s decision.
Obi was brought to the court room by a retinue of the party’s chieftains, notably the Senator elect for Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh.
An entourage of attorneys, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria SANS, ushered in the presidential contender who will contest the results of the February 25 presidential election before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Apart from Chief Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure is also in the entourage of the presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, Justice Joseph Ikyegh led panel of the Court of Appeal is being awaited for a decision on the INEC’S request.
The court will also rule in the applications of the All Progressive Congress APC and the President- elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praying the court to allow them to also carry out similar inspection of electoral materials used for the February 25 presidential election.
