The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that the Ademola Adeleke administration was taking credit for projects embarked on by his predecessor.
Osun APC, which also condemned the Adeleke administration for halting activities of the Ilesha University (IU), claimed that the Adegboyega Oyetola administration has met all requirements and received approval from adequate bodies.
The party spoke during a press conference addressed by Tajudeen Lawal, its acting Chairman in Osogbo on Wednesday.
It claimed that the Adeleke administration was in possession of N90 billion which it had received in the last three months.
Describing the 100 days of the administration as uneventful, Kola Olabisi, the Osun APC Director of Media and Information, who stood in for Lawal, alleged that the N90 billion that accrued to the state’s coffers was lavishly spent and unaccounted for.
The Adeleke administration was also accused of sacking 1500 teachers and 500 health workers recruited by the Adeleke administration for political reasons.
“Adeleke also sacked 500 health workers when there was not enough of the required health staff in the state. Adeleke has been using political hoodlums to torment and harass members of the opposition APC members before, during and after the Presidential and National Assembly elections,” he claimed.
Responding, through Akindele Adekunle, its caretaker chairman in the state, the Osun PDP said that Osun APC is dazed that Governor Adeleke is a man of due process and rule of law who subjected all government financial transactions to financial regulations.
Comparing both administrations, Akindele explained that the former government breached all known procurement rules, circumvented financial regulations and foisted an opaque financial management system on the state.
“The statement by the State’s APC just confirmed why former Governor Gboyega Oyetola failed woefully as his team are ignorant of the significant advances in the field of digital economy financing through telecom investors, expansion of healthcare access to the poor through telephone powered telemedicine and innovations in good governance delivery through selfless leadership.
“If APC leadership is shameful, it is sufficient for it to listen to the voice of Osun people and their positive rating of the PDP government. The Adeleke administration is delivering on all critical areas of the state economy, building new roads, rehabilitating old ones and taking Osun on a digital world map to create jobs and wealth for our people,” he said.
