On Thursday, an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan issued a remand order for two men, Tedon Abdulrahman, 30, and Umoru Amodu, 30, for the alleged murder of two brothers.
Charges of conspiracy, murder, and attempted murder were brought against the couple, whose addresses were withheld.
The defendants’ plea of lack of jurisdiction was rejected by the magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Enilolobo.
She instructed the police to give the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) the case file again so that they can get legal counsel.
The case was put on hold until May 8 for mention.
The defendants are alleged to have committed the crime on February 3 at around 11:00 am in the Iwere-Ile district of Ibadan, according to the prosecutor, Insp. Toyin Ibraheem, who earlier informed the court of this.
Ibraheem alleged that the duo unlawfully killed Shuaibu Usman and his brother, Sheu Usman by shooting them.
He alleged that the defendants and others at large on the same date, time and place attempted to kill Sani Usman, 35 and Haruna Sani, 30, by shooting them on the right leg and wrist.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516, 319 and 320 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
