The Federal Capital Territory Administration has given security agencies security gadgets and equipment to help them fight insecurity in the territory.
In addition to the earlier distribution of vehicles to the agencies by the FCT Minister last year, some of the equipment included helmets, hand grenades, bulletproof vests, and other sensitive security gear.
Adesola Olusade, FCTA Permanent Secretary, who distributed the equipment to the agencies in Abuja, stated that the administration valued the sacrifices made by the security agencies’ officers and men and would keep rewarding them for their unwavering assiduity and loyalty.
Olusade stated that the administration valued personnel who were well-motivated and outfitted because they would contribute to the efficient policing of a diverse city like Abuja. He also added that officers and men who risk their lives to protect the lives and property of others should be well-equipped.
“They need to be protected, so we have to support their efforts by providing them with necessary safety gadgets. We are complementing whatever the Federal Government has done, and we hope it will go a long way to boost their courage and gallantry to fight crimes and criminalities,” he said.
Also speaking, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Sadiq Abubakar, while assuring proper deployments of the equipment and gadgets and the commitment of the officers, warned miscreants and all criminals to stay away from Abuja.
“I want to assure you that we will remain committed, and it will boost whatever we have been doing. It will also encourage us to put in our best in promoting the peace and stability of the FCT. We warn hoodlums and miscreants to stay away from crimes and criminalities, otherwise we will come after them,” Abubakar said.
