How Emefiele Will Be Remembered After His Tenure – Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, will be remembered as the man who brought nothing but pain, hardship, and shame to Nigerians during his tenure as the apex bank’s governor.

Fani-Kayode claimed in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle that Emefiele did everything he could to stop the President-elect and also sought to destroy the APC and the country.

The former Aviation Minister stated that the CBN governor will pay a price for his actions in the future and will be brought to justice.

He wondered how Emefiele could ignore the Department of State Service (DSS) invitation and get away with it, claiming that he is above the law.

Fani-Kayode was also disappointed that the CBN governor refused to obey the Supreme Court’s order and ordered banks to return all old notes confiscated illegally from citizens and allow them to be freely used.

The APC chieftain, on the other hand, stated that Emefiele will face the law and be held accountable for his insufferable arrogance and disrespect, as well as his unlawful behavior, by June.

He wrote:

Godwin ‘The Greed’ Emefiele will go down in history as the man that brought nothing but pain, hardship & shame to Nigerians during his disgraceful tenure as Gov. of Central Bank. He did everything to stop the President-elect & he sought to derail & destroy APC & our country.

For this, he will pay a price in the future & he will be brought to justice. What baffles me is whether he is deemed as being above the law in the present dispensation. Who is protecting him? How can he defy the DSS & refuse to honour their invitation & get away with it?

How can he defy the 3rd arm of Govt. & the Supreme Court & REFUSE to order banks to return ALL the old notes they confiscated illegally from our citizens & allow them to be used freely? What has he done with the 1.2 TRILLION naira in old notes that he took from Nigerians?

Whatever the case by June all this rascality and tomfoolery will stop and water will find its level. By then the jungle would have matured. By then he will face the law and be held accountable for his own insufferable arrogance and disrespect and his unlawful behaviour.”
