Enugu: Army arrest, parade fake soldier with charms

Some officers of 82 division Enugu have arrested fake soldier in Enugu metropolis.

WITHIN NIGERIA source revealed that the man who gave his name as Chibueze Asogwa from Nsukka local government area of Enugu state was arrested while parading himself as military personnel at Enugu on Saturday night.

Though he was not putting on any military uniform at the time of his arrest, our source explained that Mr. Asogwa was going about telling everybody that he is a military officer and who helps in  facilitating recruitment of soldiers at 82 Division, Enugu.

“Mr. Asogwa was carrying charms, and telling people that he will help them get recruited into the Nigerian Army. Unfortunately for him, one of the persons he wanted to “help” in the recruitment informed some soldiers about his criminal activities. They then arrested and interrogated him thoroughly after giving him some physical torture.”

However, when the suspect was asked where he stayed as a soldier, he claimed that he is in 82 Division, Enugu.

On why he carries charms around him, Mr. Asogwa stated that he used the charms to protect himself against any attack by either armed robbers or Fulani herdsmen.

WITHIN NIGERIA also gathered that at the press time, nobody has come up to claim that he was fleeced of any money for recruitment.

Mr. Asogwa, our reporter gathered has been handed over to the police divisional command, Enugu for further investigation and possible prosecution.
