Bashir, one of the sons of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would be the “next President Muhammadu Buhari”.

Recall that Kwankwaso came fourth in the February 25 presidential election won by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second while Peter Obi of Labour Party was third.

Some of Kwankwaso’s critics called him ‘President of Kano’ after he won Kano State by polling a total of 997,279 votes.

Bashir, who is know for expressing his views on social media, stated that, “Those laughing at Kwankwaso that he is only the President of Kano State will not be laughing so much in a few years. He is the next Buhari, potentially.”

He stated this while reacting to the claim of Kwankwaso’s critics via his Twitter handle.

Bashir’s elder brother, Bello, was elected into the House of Representatives to represent Kaduna North Federal Constituency.

Bello, who ran on the platform of the APC defeated NNPP’s Samaila Suleiman, who currently represents the constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

Samaila had defected to NNPP when he lost his reelection ticket to Bello.
