Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has stated that the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, will succeed Muhammadu Buhari.
El-Rufai said this while congratulating the NNPP’s presidential candidate on the election results.
During the election, Kwankwaso received the most votes in Kano State, prompting some critics to refer to him as the “President of Kano.”
El-Rufai responded by saying that those who were mocking Kwankwaso and referring to him as Kano’s president will no longer do so in a few years because he has the potential to become the next Muhammadu Buhari.
In a tweet, Bashir wrote:
Those laughing at Kwankwaso that he is only the President of Kano State will not be laughing so much in a few years. He is the next Buhari, potentially.

Kwankwaso finished fourth in the recently concluded presidential election, trailing Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, Peoples Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar, and All Progressives Congress, APC candidate Bola Tinubu.
