Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State are the two leading candidates for the post of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in the incoming administration.
The names of the two-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been forwarded to President-elect Bola Tinubu, according to Vanguard.
According to a source who requested anonymity, the choice of el-Rufai as SGF is being weighed against that of Ganduje, who has been a close ally of the president-elect.
The positions of SGF, Senate President, and Speaker are expected to be discussed during Monday’s closed-door meeting of the APC leadership and National Assembly members-elect at the State House in Abuja.
The allocation of positions will be thoroughly discussed at the meeting in order to secure everyone’s commitment to form a united front before the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in June.

WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the sixth-term legislator is expected to resign his seat in the 10th assembly in order to take a top position in Tinubu’s cabinet.
According to Vanguard, Gbajabiamila was initially considered alongside former Lagos State governor and Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola, who may be assigned another portfolio in Tinubu’s administration.
