Prof. Osonwa Okorie, rector of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, has been placed on suspension by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
A statement from the Governor that was authored by Barr Chris Ezem, the Secretary to the State Government, contained the Rector’s suspension.
Associate Professor Hagler Okorie was chosen by the Governor to take over as Rector in place of the suspended Okorie.
The former Rector was fired without explanation, but the Governor stated that the ex-suspension Rector’s and replacement would take place right away.
The new Rector is an Associate Professor at Abia State University, Uturu, and has a law firm in Aba.
Okorie hails from Ohafia LGA of the State.
