The Kaduna State Police Command neutralized a terrorist and recovered one AK-47 rifle with two rounds of live 7.62x39mm ammunition.
The incident took place on March 13 when members of the Command Attached to Operation WHIRL Punch (OPSWP) acted on reliable intelligence that terrorists on a sinister mission had blocked the Galadimawa-Tumburku road in the Giwa Local Government Area at around 0645 hours that day.
The police officers, under the direction of DPO Kidandan, arrived on the scene quickly, engaged the terrorists in a gunfight, and stopped their heinous raid, forcing them to flee into a nearby bush with possible gunshot wounds of various types.
The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Yekini Ayoku, however, commended the effort of the operatives.
The CP assured members of the public that the Command shall continue to be resilient in its determination to ensure that criminal elements are denied the space to carry out their villainous activities.
