The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly members-elect have been told to concentrate on the upcoming governorship and state assembly elections for the time being.
WITHIN NIGERIA learned that they were also told to put the issue of zoning for the leadership of the 10th assembly on hold for the time being and instead focus on the party’s victory in the March 18 elections.
On Monday, the NASS members-elect were chastised at a meeting presided over by Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima.
This online news platform also reported that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Ali Ndume were present at the meeting (APC Borno-South).
The party’s lawmakers choose to focus less on the issue of zoning and leadership of the 10th Assembly for the time being because the party has another election coming up.
Gbajabiamila urged the newly elected lawmakers to focus on the March 18 governorship election.
He stated that the gathering was to celebrate the party’s victory in the presidential election on February 25.
The Speaker added that;
On zoning, we did talk about it; it is neither here nor there yet.
We have another election this weekend and we want to make sure that everybody goes back home, roll up their sleeves.
